Bellevue College men’s soccer ended the regular season and honored their sophomores with their biggest win of the season, topping previously undefeated and top-ranked Peninsula 2-1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beckett Heynen gave BC the 2-1 lead early on; four minutes into the second half before the defense would hold on for the victory for the remaining 40 minutes. The Pirates had a shot late on an attempt by Angel Sandoval but Bellevue’s Mason Duarte made the stop to preserve the win. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier in the match the ‘dogs Santiago Vergara found the back of the goal at 18:18 to spot Bellevue an early 1-0 lead. Peninsula answered back at 26:50 as neither team had any shots for the entire second portion of the first half as the defense for both teams controlled the game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With only five total shots on goal by both teams, the Bulldogs made the most of their opportunities as their only two shots on goal resulted in scores. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before the regular season finale, eight sophomores were honored for their commitment and hard work in a pre-game ceremony. The team, coaches, and athletic department recognized Dale Blickhan, Patrick Gloria, Beckett Heynen, Ethan Lu, Kaleb Steinle, Lucas Renggli, Kel Isar, and Eluar Gutierrez (Chino).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
