Bellevue College volleyball needed every point they could get in one of the most thrilling come-from-behind wins, taking down host Everett in five by scores of 19-25, 27-29, 25-14, 25-23, 19-17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Freshman Mya Hejl was on fire with 16 kills and only one error hitting a scorching .682. Sophomore Jessi Mahler had an excellent all-around night as well with 13 kills and 24 digs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Everett took the first two sets in what was trending towards one of the biggest upsets in the NWAC on Everett’s Sophomore Night, the Bulldogs dominated set three before a thrilling set four which saw both teams come back twice each in a back and forth battle. Up 22-20, the Bulldogs’ defense came up big with consecutive blocks by Mahler, Hejl, and Karisa Martin to give BC the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In set five, the Bulldogs were down 13-10 but Hejl responded with a two kills to tie it back up at 13-13. Mahler and Hejl continued to pound their way to the win with big swings giving the ‘dogs the 19-17 win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bellevue, now 8-2 in North Region play (23-6 overall) will host Whatcom this Wed. Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. Before the match, Bellevue’s seven sophomores; Natalie Copeland, Mandi Nottingham, Jocie Snyder, Jessi Mahler, Maycee Ward, Olivia Beal, and Annie Goetze will be honored in ceremony. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
