Bellevue College women’s basketball fell down early to host Skagit Valley and couldn’t recover in a 70-59 loss. After the first ten minutes of play, the score was 20-2 in favor of Skagit Valley at the end of the first quarter. The Bulldogs shot a miniscule seven percent (one of 14) from the field, and magnified the spread with three turnovers in the first two minutes of the game. Nothing went BC’s way as missed shots, fouls, and turnovers gave Skagit Valley the easy commanding lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the second quarter, things got even worse for BC as they fell behind 30-2 before Sequoia Turner finally made a three pointer that led to an 11-0 Bulldog run. Bellevue continued to find it’s groove after intermission whittling the Skagit Valley 28 point lead down to six, 51-46 with two minutes remaining in the quarter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The re-energized Bulldogs cut it to two at 58-56 on a layup by Myana Calloway, but could get no closer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
