Devynn Warns, who had dominated the floor on several occasions this year, tossed in 36 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in a gritty 79-73 road win at Edmonds. Warns was 11-for-23 from the field and drained 14-of-16 free throws and had four steals as well in a well-rounded effort on both ends of the court. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
12 of her points came in the pivotal fourth quarter when Edmonds rallied from behind to take a 71-69 lead with 1:15 remaining in the game. Warns answered with a three-point conversion on a layup and free throw following a foul on the drive to the basket. With Edmonds in foul mode down with 47 seconds to go, Warns stepped up with five free throws and a basket in the final 30 seconds to prevent the Tritons from any last second comeback. She scored the final 10 points of the game for the ‘dogs as collectively, the Bulldogs sealed the win at the free throw line, making 83% on a whopping 30 attempts on the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
BC’s 40-27 rebound advantage gave the Bulldogs control for most of the game, but the Tritons stayed in it with the three-ball, popping in 45% of their 20 attempts from long range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ghadir Ramadan was a force again underneath, pulling down 15 rebounds including 10 on the offensive side. Myana Calloway chipped in 19 points and had three steals for the ‘dogs as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Bulldogs are currently in a three-way tie for second place with Olympic and Skagit Valley at 9-4. The Bulldogs host Skagit Valley this Wed. Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. for second place honors. Wednesday will also be Sophomore Night, as BC’s sophomore players will be honored in a ceremony. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
