Bellevue College women’s basketball bounced back after an opening tourney loss with an impressive comeback win over Clark, 71-66. The Bulldogs poured in 27 points in the pivotal fourth quarter as the ‘dogs overcame a seven point deficit. BC outscored Clark 27-15 in the final quarter and were led by Aysha Peter who had nine of her game-high 20 points in the fourth on three for three shooting from the field paired with three of four from the free throw line. Peter’s hot hand led the Bulldogs to a 69% shooting clip in the fourth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Penguins built the lead up to ten just seconds into the fourth quarter before Bellevue began to chip away. Shannel Kovalsky had three points with 4:16 remaining to pull Bellevue to within one at 60-59. With 19 seconds remaining down by two at 68-66, Clark was forced to foul and sent Peter to the line where she converted one of two to put BC up by three. A costly turnover by Clark gave the ball back to Bellevue with nine seconds remaining to seal the win. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Peter finished with eight rebounds to go with her 20 points and ended the night on eight-for-12 shooting. Kovalsky had 11 points and pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds while Lily Auelua was also hot from the floor on five-of-seven shooting for 13 points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
