Although not playing it’s sharpest basketball tonight, committing 16 turnovers, the Bulldogs found a way to stay in control the entire game and benefited from Wenatchee Valley’s fouling woes. Bellevue managed a trip to the foul line 24 times in the game, cashing in on 16 of them.

The Bulldogs jumped out 10-2 in the first three minutes in the game as the squad appeared ready to make it another high scoring affair as they’ve done on numerous occasions this year. But the ‘dogs went the next three minutes without scoring until Daniel Kabamba’s layup kept the narrow lead for Bellevue at 12-9. Wenatchee Valley was able to hang right with the ‘dogs, down by just one at 31-30 with 3:54 to go in the first half until Bellevue was able to establish a little breathing room with 6-0 run to close out the half.

The Knights were able to get within seven, down 61-54 with 5:31 to go in the game, but the Bulldogs trio of Isaiah White, Josiah Johnson, and Will Woodward were able to put up 10 points over the final minutes to keep Wenatchee Valley in check.

Sawyer Cottrell led Bellevue with 19 points while Woodward added 14 on five-of-eight shooting. White pulled down a team high of nine rebounds. Bellevue completes pre-season as the hottest team in the NWAC and the fourth-best record in the conference at 13-2.
