Bellevue outscored Peninsula 20-13 in the third to take a five point lead heading into the final quarter. Alexis Marcussen nailed a three pointer with 7:21 left in the third to tie the game at 35. BC would outscore Peninsula 9-4 in the final two minutes to put all of the momentum in the Bulldogs&#8217; favor heading into the final quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the fourth, the Pirates wasted no time regaining the lead with a 10-0 run early on. Now down 54-51, Bellevue&#8217;s Leeschelle Sophappy drained a bucket to pull Bellevue to within one at 54-53, and also broke Peninsula&#8217;s scoring run. Lily Auelua made two key baskets to keep Bellevue in the game down the stretch before a layup by DeAndrea Woods-Singleton put Bellevue up 60-58 as the two minute mark approached. With the clock ticking into the final minute, Peninsula&#8217;s Ryana Moss delivered the big blow to Bellevue by nailing a three pointer to put the Pirates back up 61-60 with only 37 seconds remaining. A timeout by Bellevue ensued. The &#8216;dogs had two chances to score but came up empty as Woods-Singleton was forced to foul with 16 seconds left. The Pirates&#8217; Aspen Fraser gave Bellevue hope by missing the back end of two at the free throw line. With one last shot, down 62-60 with 16 seconds remaining, the &#8216;dogs could not find the net as Peninsula escaped with the narrow win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Auelua led Bellevue with 17 points while Marcussen chipped in 10 with six rebounds. Woods-Singleton had five offensive rebounds and nine overall while Katen Myers pulled down seven boards coming off the bench. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Bulldogs are 2-1 in region play (7-10 overall) and will play winless Shoreline this Sat.
