The Bulldogs and Tritons were in a back and forth battle for much of the first half before Edmonds’ Kyrylo Kapinos nailed back-to-back three pointers to give Edmonds a 39-34 lead, putting the Edmonds fans in a frenzy, with a possible snap of Bellevue’s NWAC-leading 20 game win streak on the horizon. Edmonds was able to stretch the lead to nine at 43-34 as the Bulldogs went scoreless over the final three minutes of the half. Mayo did most of his damage to the Tritons with a perfect eight of eight from the line. Mayo scored five points on consecutive possessions to pull BC to within three at 50-47 with 15:14 to go. Cottrell then threw in back to back three balls at 13:02 to give BC the lead 59-56. Mayo sank four free throws with a minute remaining to balloon Bellevue’s lead to 97-80 in one of the biggest comebacks all season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Johnson led the Bulldogs with 23 points and five rebounds. Mayo had 18 with five rebounds as well along with Cottrell and Will Woodward. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The top-ranked Bulldogs are now 8-0 in North Region play and 21-2 overall. They host Everett this Sat.
