With NWAC Championship berths coming down to the last week, the Bellevue College softball team came through getting two must wins against visiting Pierce by identical scores of 11-3. In the opener, the Bulldogs had to shake off a 2-0 deficit but came through in the middle innings, bunching all 11 runs in between the third and fifth innings for the run-rule win. Allie Barashkoff cleared the bases in the third as she doubled home Maddie Repp, Shannon Tierney, and Ella Singer. Barashkoff delivered again in the following inning scoring Repp for the second time in two innings. Tierney also blasted a home run prior to Barashkoff’s blast as the two of them provided much of the offensive explosion with 4 RBI’s apiece. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In game two, the ‘dogs wasted no time, jumping ahead 4-0 in the opening frame as Aubree Orr carried the hot bat in the nightcap, tripling in Barashkoff and Abby Watkins in the first. Orr hit a solo shot in the third then singled in the fourth to cap off a 3-for-3 with 4 RBI game. Malia Reedy allowed just five hits and struck out four before giving way to Ava Jeretzky who threw 1.2 hitless and scoreless innings to close out the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wins move Bellevue up to 11th in the NWAC RPI, with the top 12 earning berths to the NWAC Championships. The Bulldogs are 16-6 in league play and travel to Skagit Valley this Sun. May 3 for a 1 P.M. doubleheader.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
