Bellevue College men’s soccer, on the brink of tough road loss at Whatcom, salvaged a tie as BC’s Derek Remen nailed a penalty kick with just three minutes left in the game as the Orcas and Bulldogs ended the game 1-1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bellevue escaped with the tie as Whatcom controlled the game offensively in the second half, outshooting the ‘dogs 10-2. Bellevue ‘keeper Juan Carlos Lopez Jr. was busy in the second half making five saves as the Orcas pounded at BC’s goal continuously. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before Whatcom’s second half dominance, the ‘dogs had chances in the first half as a header by Bellevue Diego Diaz Romero was saved by Orca goalkeeper Mason Randolph. Remen’s shot at 30:58 hit the crossbar in another close Bellevue attempt. Aiden Karkutly also had a near miss as Bellevue’s offense just had no luck in the first half. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bellevue is now 2-1-1 (4-1-1 overall) and will travel to Everett this Sat. Sept. 26 for a 2:15 p.m. start. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
