Bellevue took advantage of Everett miscues in the later sets as the Trojans hit just .067 on the night with 29 errors. Bellevue showed their inconsistency at the serve line with 13 errors but made up for it with excellent defense in back row as four players had double digit digs in Ava Nowak (20), Tessa Mossburg (19), Maile Kuamo’o (15) and Ja’elle Jenkins (14).

Bellevue dug themselves into a hole early in set one as Everett’s Natalie Spelman recorded three aces as the Trojans stretched a 7-5 lead to 12-5. Although the ‘dogs pulled to within one on two occasions, the Trojans were able to hold off BC in set one. The two teams stayed competitive in set two with Bellevue leading 22-20. A Trojan attack error followed by an ace by Nowak forced set point for Bellevue at 24-20. Everett answered with a side out and another kill before Jenkins ended it with a kill off an out of system set by Mossburg.

Set three was another competitive battle with Bellevue up 22-21 before Jenkins again delivered big time kills for points 24 and 25 to give BC a 2-1 lead. The Bulldogs seized control early on in set four stretching an 11-9 lead to 20-11. Jenkins had three kills during the stretch as the ‘dogs hit .273, their best of the night, in set four.

Nowak had 18 kills while Jenkins hammered down 16 to provide the offense. Lucci Unga had 31 assists.

The Bulldogs lead the North Region at 8-1 (22-5 overall) and will host Shoreline this Wed.
