Left-hander TJ Parthemer has committed to play at Cornell University next year. Parthemer is the lone returner from the starting rotation of last year\u2019s NWAACC champion squad. It is speculated that Parthemer is the first NWAACC baseball player to play at an Ivy League school. To make the accomplishment even more prestigious, Parthemer was accepted into the rigorous school of business at Cornell. \u201cTJ\u2019s accolades in the classroom and on the mound have finally paid off,\u201d says Coach Mark Yoshino. \u201cWhen we met in the fall, TJ expressed a strong interest in playing at an Ivy League school. It is a rewarding experience for him because he achieved it through his own merits in the classroom and on the field. He didn\u2019t need to be shopped around like a bill of goods; he earned it through his excellence academically and athletically. When you consider how hard it is to get into business schools, it makes it even more special.\u201d Parthemer recently made his return this past weekend throwing one shutout inning against Shoreline. He is currently 1-1 with a 1.29 ERA and leads Bellevue\u2019s staff with a .125 opponent batting average.<\/p>\n
