Be a Peer Mentor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our peer mentors usually come from nearby Universities and are typically planning to enter fields where they will work with neurodivergent people. They are usually Juniors or Seniors, and are often co-enrolled in an Internship as part of their work with us, either through their Institution or through ours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peer mentors receive 30 hours of paid professional training prior to starting their work with students, then additional weekly training, supervision, and feedback, along with between-quarter training. Topics include neurodiversity cultural responsiveness, communication tools such as Collaborative Problem Solving, Positive Psychology, objective report writing, boundaries for peer mentors, program protocols, campus resources, and more. This training along with on-the-job experience is an invaluable addition to a peer mentor’s college education in their chosen field.  <\/p>\n\n\n

Are you: an enrolled University Undergraduate Junior or Senior (or recent graduate) with an interest in: Neurodiversity, Autism, Disability Services; Psychology; Nursing; Speech Language Pathology; Occupational Therapy; Higher Education Administration, Special Education, or a related field?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And are you: Looking for experience in the field of Disability Services or Neurodiversity \/ Autism? Would you like a well-paying part-time job that fits around your schedule? Do you have: 12-15 hours a week to work (create your own schedule!) and reliable transportation? (we\u2019re bus-accessible), and a willingness to learn? Are you available to work for the full Bellevue College school year (Fall, Winter, Spring)? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you can answer \u201cYES\u201d to these questions, we have an exciting opportunity for you at Bellevue College, working one-on-one with students! You will receive paid ongoing training, hourly pay, and documentation of your work experience. There is potential for internship credit as well, depending on agreements with your University (fees may apply). This is a valuable opportunity for the right person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
