Applications for Fall Quarter is now open!!

Join us for fun and engaging online lessons to learn about finding jobs and working in the U.S. We will meet every week, and work online in Canvas with videos, readings, discussions, quizzes, and more! Classes start in January, April and September. Choose one class per quarter.


Preparing for Work


We learn how to find a job in the U.S: job searching techniques and strategies; completing accurate job applications; writing a resume and a cover letter; interview questions and strategies. This is a 4-hour weekly class using Zoom and Canvas.

Every Tuesday 5:30 – 7:20p.m.
+2 hours online work per week


On the Job Communications


We learn how to write business emails and letters; making requests and suggestions; speaking with clarity; preparing and making a business presentation. This is a 4-hour weekly class using Zoom and Canvas.

  • We serve immigrants, refugees, or U.S. citizens with English as a second language.
  • We do not serve tourists or people with Foreign Student Visas (J-1, F-1, M-1, B-1, B-2). 
  • We do not serve students who are currently studying or have completed a U.S. college or university degree.
  • You will need access to a computer or laptop.
  • You will need to be comfortable using a computer.
  • You should be interested in learning more about working in the U.S.
  • Bellevue residents will be served first and then non-Bellevue residents.

Classes are Free : Sponsored by the City of Bellevue

 Bellevue residents are given priority. Non-Bellevue residents served if space available

Step 1: Create Account

If you have never taken a class at BC, you’ll need to create Bellevue College account.

If you already have ctclink ID send us your ctclink ID prep4work@bellevuecollege.edu and Go to step 4.

  • Start on SBCTC – OAA User Log in
  • Select “create an account”, then complete the information form.
  • Once submitted the form and admission process is completed, (which may take several days) you will receive email about your new ctcLink account information. (Check email including junk/spam folders)

Step 2: Activate Account

  1. Go to: myaccount.ctclink.us/  Click on the bottom option which says “Activate Your Account”
  2. Next, type in name and date of birth. Type in your ctcLink ID number. (If you’re unable to locate your ID number, look it up at  Bellevue College ID Lookup Tool.)
  3. Create a password, then activate the account. Write down your ctcLink number and password.

Step 3: Set up a BC email address

Step 4: Submit Intake Form

Please fill out the intake form.

We will process your application and send instructions via email. Please check email regularly and follow all directions.

Once you have completed these steps, you will have your Bellevue College accounts and your WA State ctcLink account. Now you can apply for the Preparing for Work program.
