Summer Teen Class: Digital Illustration and Painting Techniques

As an illustrator and designer, I have worked on everything from computer and console games to graphics for major New York publishers, book covers, advertising campaigns, history and text books, fantasy games, and lots of corporate work internationally. Illustration has gone through a lot of changes over the years, but there is always a need for people who can draw well and know Photoshop. My intention for this class is to introduce teens to what is going on in the business of gaming, 3D, design, and how it’s used in various ways every day.

Whatever your interest in graphic work is, I can help steer you in the right direction, answer questions about what schools to go to, how to shoot your artwork, what you should put in your portfolio, etc. Or just join the class to learn tricks and techniques about Photoshop from a professional. We will also get into how to do basic 3D landscapes and other cool techniques within the program.

For video, I will show you how to take what you learn and apply it to animation, or video effects, adding snow, fog, and overlaying images to get professional results. You will also learn how to add music and sound to your videos. These are high-end programs and can be daunting to learn, but much easier and more fun with a guiding hand.
