PARED 023 Child Study Lab Three Year Olds II • 3 Cr.


Provides education and personal exploration opportunities for parenting the young child ages three through four years old. Students will explore the cognitive, emotional, social and physical development of the young child through research based information, discussion, and observation. Students will observe and practice models of child guidance practices and techniques in the laboratory classrooms.


After completing this class, students should be able to:

  • Use community resources and the other parent-students in class as a support system for their job as parents.
  • Shift their parenting role as their child initiates ideas through play to control themselves and their environment.
  • Work effectively with children in a classroom setting.
  • Use leadership skills while carrying out the business of the laboratory classroom.
