I have been teaching\u00a0 over 20 years at Bellevue College. I was hired immediately after I finished my\u00a0MA in Speech Communication from San Diego State University. Before SDSU, I\u00a0 attended University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA, where I received a BA in\u00a0 Communication and English. My first experience in the discipline of\u00a0 Communication was through high school debate. I then competed for University of\u00a0the Pacific on a full scholarship.\u00a0 After coaching debate at SDSU, I hung\u00a0 up my competitive debate hat and concentrated on the interpersonal and\u00a0 organizational communication facets of this discipline.<\/p>\n
I teach a variety of\u00a0 courses, but mainly focus on the behavioral side of Communication rather than\u00a0 the Rhetoric and Public Address areas.\u00a0 In addition to teaching, I have\u00a0 also served in leadership positions on campus and volunteer efforts in the\u00a0community. At times I have worked as a communication consultant or trainer for area businesses and organizations and enjoy discussing workplace application of\u00a0Communication Studies material.<\/p>\n
My husband and I live in Sammamish with\u00a0 our three daughters.
