Renee DeHeck is a graduate of California State University,\u00a0 Stanislaus in Turlock, CA with a BA in Organizational Communications and a\u00a0 Masters of Arts, in Mass Communication Management also from CSU, Stanislaus.<\/p>\n
Prior to becoming an educator, Ms. DeHeck has a diverse\u00a0 background of 25 years in the Media\/Advertising Industry. Her early beginnings\u00a0 were with KCSO\/UniVision as a Floor Director working in Broadcast News, Talk\u00a0 Shows, Commercials and Music Videos. Next she worked for E&J Gallo Winery\u00a0 as photographer, videographer, and photo stylist making national TV spots,\u00a0 industrial training films, documentaries, infomercials and the Gallo Winery Magazine.\u00a0 After 4 years with the Winery, Ms. DeHeck left Gallo to start her own\u00a0 production company known as Master Reel Productions which has been in operation\u00a0 for over 12 years.\u00a0 She produces and\u00a0 writes media projects as well as freelancing a voiceover artist, photographer,\u00a0 editor, make-up artist, set design, location scout, and casting agent.<\/p>\n
Since starting her company, she\u2019s produced award winning TV\u00a0 commercials with advertising agencies, namely AT&T Media Services, which\u00a0 have aired on cable networks such as Discovery, A&E, ESPN, TNT, HGTV, VH1,\u00a0 Animal Planet and more. Currently she is freelancing in the summers working on\u00a0 independent films and short media projects.<\/p>\n
DeHeck enjoys the arts. She likes to paint and draw,\u00a0 photography, and music. Besides playing guitar and mandolin, she enjoys\u00a0attending and participating in community theater. Of course going to the movies\u00a0 and working in the film industry is a passion of hers.<\/p>\n
Remaining active in the media industry allows Ms. DeHeck to\u00a0stay current with the ever-changing technology field in addition to\u00a0supplementing lectures with valuable illustrations to pass on to her students.\u00a0 DeHeck\u2019s passion for teaching is always in the forefront of her experiences.<\/p>\n
DeHeck loves teaching at community colleges because of the\u00a0opportunity for smaller class size and the connection with the students. Being\u00a0 able to provide the students more hand-on experiences is valuable for practical\u00a0 application and preparing for one\u2019s career.
