Biography:

Gordon Gül is a dedicated educator with a strong background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Computer Game Development. He holds degrees from universities in Sweden, Denmark, and the US. He joined Bellevue College’s Computer Science Department in 2023, and has previously taught at the Evergreen State College, South Puget Sound Community College, and Centralia College. During his teaching career Gordon has taught roughly 40 different classes in Computer Science, IT, CIS, Math, BEdA, and ethics. Before he started his teaching career, he worked as a software engineer, a system architect, and a database administrator in Sweden and the US.

Beyond his technical expertise, Gordon is committed to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment. He believes in the power of hands-on learning and project-based assignments to help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. His passion for lifelong learning extends beyond his own academic pursuits; he is also dedicated to mentoring and inspiring his students to explore their own interests and potential.

In his free time, Gordon engages in volunteer work. He has served on a Patient Advisory Board, taught martial arts, and conducted Search and Rescue operations. He enjoys spending time with his cats, playing video games, cooking, baking, drawing, traveling, and SCUBA diving. He is excited to share his knowledge, experience, and passion for learning with his students.
