These programs include:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Non-credit community or continuing education classes,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>College in the High School,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CTE\/Tech Prep, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Running Start 2019 or earlier, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Career Education Options (CEO) 2021 or earlier.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>However<\/strong>, If you last attended the college (enrolled for classes) more than four quarters ago,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/forms.bellevuecollege.edu\/studentcentral\/term-activate\/\">submit a term activation request form<\/a>&nbsp;so we can activate your account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bachelor\u2019s degree is a selective admissions program. Students should work with an advisor or program manager to get a customized education plan to complete the degree or pathway of their choice. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mayflower-blocks-collapse card bg-default\"><div class=\"card-header\" id=\"heading_e26fb1e8-7eb4-4319-af84-7bf8ac73268e\"><h3 class=\"mb-0\"><button class=\"btn collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-target=\"#collapse_e26fb1e8-7eb4-4319-af84-7bf8ac73268e\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse_e26fb1e8-7eb4-4319-af84-7bf8ac73268e\">How do I bypass course prerequisite requirements so that I can register for my first quarter at Bellevue College?<\/button><\/h3><\/div><div id=\"collapse_e26fb1e8-7eb4-4319-af84-7bf8ac73268e\" class=\"collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"heading_e26fb1e8-7eb4-4319-af84-7bf8ac73268e\" data-parent=\"#accordion_908acfb4-e3d2-44e1-a6dc-6902227f09f3\" data-bs-parent=\"#accordion_908acfb4-e3d2-44e1-a6dc-6902227f09f3\"><div class=\"card-body\">\n<p>In order to register for their first quarter at BC new students will need to <a href=\"\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/current-students\/placement-testing-services\/prerequisites\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fill out a form<\/a> verifying that they have taken the course prerequisites elsewhere <strong>OR<\/strong> take a math and english placement exam through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/current-students\/placement-testing-services\/\">Testing Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Course Clearing Prerequisite Form Instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select the appropriate form: \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If clearing prerequisites for classes other than math &amp; English, students will select the courses they need to register for (if not listed, they can select &#8220;other&#8221; and manually type the course in)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upload an unofficial transcript from the college where they completed the prerequisite course<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It can take three to five days for Evaluations to clear course prerequisites so that students are able to register for their first classes. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/current-students\/student-central\/processing-dashboard\/\">Student Central Processing Dashboard<\/a> should be used to check for current updates on processing prerequisite requests and transferring\/evaluating credits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>After students are registered for their first quarter at Bellevue College they should follow the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/admissions-aid\/getting-started\/transfer\/\">steps to officially transfer their credits in<\/a>. <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mayflower-blocks-collapse card bg-default\"><div class=\"card-header\" id=\"heading_ffa29e75-e849-4252-939d-4136dbe1aa8f\"><h3 class=\"mb-0\"><button class=\"btn collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-target=\"#collapse_ffa29e75-e849-4252-939d-4136dbe1aa8f\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse_ffa29e75-e849-4252-939d-4136dbe1aa8f\">Why am I having issues registering on ctcLink?<\/button><\/h3><\/div><div id=\"collapse_ffa29e75-e849-4252-939d-4136dbe1aa8f\" class=\"collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"heading_ffa29e75-e849-4252-939d-4136dbe1aa8f\" data-parent=\"#accordion_908acfb4-e3d2-44e1-a6dc-6902227f09f3\" data-bs-parent=\"#accordion_908acfb4-e3d2-44e1-a6dc-6902227f09f3\"><div class=\"card-body\">\n<p>Common ctcLink errors students experience when trying to register:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>When a box pops up asking for a permission code ignore it and click &#8220;save&#8221;.<strong>  The system will always ask for a permission code even if students don\u2019t need one.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the quarter you are trying to register for is not an option, you may need to fill out the <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.bellevuecollege.edu\/studentcentral\/term-activate\/?_gl=1*5ngxry*_ga*NDMyNTk3NzM0LjE2NDcwMjgzMDI.*_ga_D205WT30XL*MTY1ODI1OTIzMC4zNzUuMS4xNjU4MjYzNTEzLjU0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Term Quarter Activation Request Form<\/a>. Once registered students should follow the steps below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Submit official transcript(s) to Bellevue College<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check \u201cAdvisor Notes\u201d on your <a href=\"https:\/\/myaccount.ctclink.us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ctcLink account<\/a> to verify that your official transcript has been received<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Only after you see that your transcript has been received<\/strong> <strong>will you then fill out a <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.bellevuecollege.edu\/studentcentral\/evaluation-of-transfer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">transfer credit request form<\/a> where you will select the degree you are pursuing. Students may be asked to provide course descriptions and\/or syllabi to determine if it is an appropriate substitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students will work with the program manager and program chair to evaluate transfer credits and possible course equivalencies. The best option is dependent upon the students individual academic goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Course Challenge (For Credit):<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If a student is pursuing a credential\/degree and does not have any credits that can be substituted for the course requirement, the student will need to take the course challenge exam to get the credit (costs 40% of tuition). As long as the student passes the exam they will be awarded the credit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Example<strong>:<\/strong> A student has been working in the field as a programmer and learned C# on their own. Although they already have the knowledge of DEV 110 course, they are working towards the AAS-T Software Development degree and still need credit for the class in order to graduate. This student would take the course challenge exam.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Waiver Exam (No Credit):<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If a student is pursuing a credential\/degree and has old credits that can be substituted for the course requirement, or does not need the credit for a particular class to achieve their academic goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Example:<\/em> <em>A student has been working in the field as a programmer and learned C# on their own. They already have the knowledge of DEV 110 course, and would like entry into DEV 120 (which requires DEV 110 as a prerequisite). They are &#8220;cherry-picking&#8221; courses for continuing education and are not pursuing a credential\/degree which requires DEV 110 to graduate.
