This position is open for students only. A successful candidate will provide excellent customers service, take customer orders, ring up customers orders, prepare orders, keep working area clean and sanitized, restock supplies and perform other duties as needed.
Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule
Pay rate: $16/hr.
The successful candidate is expected to work 16 hours per week. This position typically assigned as needed on a quarterly basis, with no expectation of continued employment beyond the current appointment.
The temporary hourly employment does not exceed 1,050 hours in any 12 consecutive month period from the original date of hire. Temporary hourly employees who work more than three hundred fifty (350) hours in a twelve consecutive month period may be subject to provisions of one the collective bargaining agreements covering Classified employees at Bellevue College.
This position is expected to NOT be eligible for benefits because eligibility is limited only to employees working at least an average of 80 hours in eligible employment for more than 6 consecutive months and at least 8 hours a month.

About the Department
Bellevue College Food Service provides the college students, staff and faculty a place to get a variety of healthy food and beverage choices.
- Greet customers in a friendly manner and take food and drink orders.
- Identify prices of products and services and tabulate bills with available equipment.
- Take payment from customers.
- Ensure accurate transactions by balancing cash register at the beginning and end of shift, and sales at the end of shift.
- Prepare and serve beverages, ranging from simple to elaborate ones.
- Prepare and serve food items such as soups, sandwiches and pastries.
- Answer customers’ questions about menu choices.
- Promote and recommend menu options to customers.
- Maintain inventory and equipment by cleaning.
- Keep the work environment sanitary and organized.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
- Demonstrated experience handling US currency.
- Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds.
- Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers & Calculator.
- Food Handlers Permit (if hired within 14 days).
