The EEAC encourages meaningful dialogue to create a future in which social identities are not predictive of employee advancements or student outcomes at Bellevue College.\u202f\u202fMembers of the EEAC will be expected to plan and evaluate diverse and adaptive learning opportunities across the College and make ongoing, differentiated equity education accessible to all students, faculty, staff, and administrators.\u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>EEAC Responsibilities:\u202f<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ensure that all students and employees are allowed to engage in Equity Education.\u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Track and evaluate students\u2019 and employees\u2019 ongoing participation in Equity Education and its impact on their teaching and learning experiences and campus climate. \u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Identify&nbsp;and work to eliminate&nbsp;root factors of disparate outcomes. \u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Form workgroups to understand and respond to issues brought to the committee\u2019s attention. \u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This will typically involve working with representatives for specific tasks (from DEI to related fields\/departments), drafting reports on recommendations for further action or discussion by the EEAC, or reporting on current activities currently before the EEAC.\u202f\u202f\u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is the responsibility of the workgroups to be familiar with issues related to the interests of the EEAC and their recommendations for consideration regarding&nbsp;students, employees, and\/or services. \u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Committee Expectations:\u202f&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the academic year 2023-2024, the committee will have time, work, and behavioral expectations to maintain&nbsp;direction and work within the EEAC.\u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Meeting Frequency:\u202f<\/strong>Two hours every two weeks. Additional&nbsp;communications and preparations between meetings will be expected.\u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Guiding Document:<\/strong>\u202fMembers are expected to use the recommendations, suggestions, and framework established&nbsp;at the Summer 2020 Equity Retreat moving forward, as stated&nbsp;in Proposal 1246.\u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Confidentiality Promise:\u202f<\/strong>Members are expected to keep discussions private. A breach may result in separation from the committee or reapplication to the committee.\u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Transparency Promise:\u202f<\/strong>Outcomes will be made public.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Eligibility and Terms<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Adjunct&nbsp;Faculty<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This position is specifically open to adjunct faculty due to changes in the committee membership.&nbsp;These changes were made as a counterbalance for a more equitable&nbsp;representation between full-time&nbsp;and adjunct faculty.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The term\u00a0length for this position will be two to three years, depending on member availability and committee needs. Typically, EEAC does not meet during the Summer\u00a0quarter; however, some PD planning does take place before the fall quarter. Members are\u00a0compensated for time over the summer.\u00a0Participation on this committee qualifies for fulfilling college-wide governance hours. See article 14.3 \u201cAdjunct Rank,\u201d of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. In addition, for adjunct faculty members who have fulfilled their responsibilities outside of serving on the EEAC or whose\u00a0work on the EEAC goes beyond their required governance hours, the OCCIT will compensate adjunct faculty with a flat rate stipend of $1,750 per quarter. Members are compensated for time over the summer.\u00a0The OCCIT will compensate students with a flat rate stipend of $760 per quarter.
