This collection provides resources for disabled folks\u2014from programs within the community&nbsp;to library resources, including books about and by disabled people\u2014and supports non-disabled folks in learning about and engaging with the disabled community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Student Resources<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"info-release\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Financial Support for Disabled Students<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While our office cannot provide funding for college, there are a variety of Bellevue College-related financial options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/foundation\/scholarships\/\">Bellevue College Foundation Scholarships<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/admissions-aid\/financial-aid\/\">The Financial Aid office<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/bellevuecollege.edu\/careers\/\">Center for Career Connections &amp; Women\u2019s Center<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/mcs\/\">Multicultural Student Services<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/we\/bfet\/\">Basic Food Employment and Training Program<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additionally, Washington State&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dshs.wa.gov\/dvr\/\">Division of Vocational Rehabilitation<\/a>\u00a0may be an option for some students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"title-ix\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Title IX (Gender-Based Discrimination)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (20 U.S.C. \u00a7 1681) is an all-encompassing federal law that prohibits gender-based discrimination&nbsp;in educational institutions that receive&nbsp;federal funds. Title IX is most commonly associated with gender discrimination in sports and is credited with advancing participation of women in athletics. However, the scope of Title&nbsp;IX&nbsp;is much more broad. It prohibits gender-based discrimination in all&nbsp;college programs and activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Title IX protection from discrimination extends to faculty, staff and students. It covers a wide array of sex- and gender-based discrimination, including such things as: sexual harassment, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, gender-identity, gender-expression, and pregnancy. It also prohibits retaliation against anyone who makes or participates in a complaint. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can <a href=\"https:\/\/cm.maxient.com\/reportingform.php?BellevueCollege\">report a concern online<\/a>. If you want to talk with someone before filing a report online, reach out to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/titleix\/\">Title IX office<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Accommodations are possible for contacting and working with Title IX; if you would like to discuss this, please <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/drc\/contact\/#DRCTeam\">contact whomever at the DRC you feel most comfortable with<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"tutoring\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tutoring<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Free tutoring for all students enrolled in classes is available through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/asc\/\">Academic Success Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please contact us and we'll discuss how we can support disabled students in your organization.
