Please note that it can take 4-6 weeks for the Disability Access Process to be completed. Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/admissions-aid\/getting-started\/\">Welcome Center<\/a> for support with this. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have questions, please <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/drc\/contact\/\">contact our office<\/a>.\u202fWe are excited to have you as part of our campus community!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 1: <a href=\"https:\/\/cascade.accessiblelearning.com\/BellevueCollege\/Start\">Submit an Access Form<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Access Form will ask for your contact information and for self-report of your disability. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We use self-report as our main source of information to determine accommodations. If you have medical or educational information such as an IEP or 504 Plan from high school, veteran\u2019s documentation, or a note from a counselor, doctor, or other qualified specialist, you are welcome to submit it to our office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Medical or Educational information is not required for scheduling an appointment.<\/strong> We may ask for more disability information as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have difficulty with the <a href=\"https:\/\/cascade.accessiblelearning.com\/BellevueCollege\/Start\">MyDRC Access Form<\/a>, please <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/drc\/contact\/\">contact us<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 2: Schedule and Attend an Access Meeting<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mayflower-blocks-alert alert alert-success\">\n<p>For students enrolled in classes, we are scheduling Access Meetings starting May 11th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For students enrolling for classes for Summer or Fall quarter, we are scheduling Access Meetings the week of June 1st.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Updated April 15th)\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>We will contact you via your <a href=\"https:\/\/outlook.com\/owa\/bellevuecollege.edu\">Bellevue College Email<\/a> to schedule. Please be sure to check it after submitting the Access Form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Access Meetings are held online. You will share your disability information, and barriers you encounter in an academic setting. Your Access Specialist will determine your accommodations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want an advocate to join your meeting, complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.bellevuecollege.edu\/studentcentral\/information-release-authorization\/\">Information Release Authorization Form<\/a>.\u202f\u00a0We recommend filling this form out the\u202ftwo business days before your meeting. If you are unable to do so, your Access Specialist can go over it with\u202fyou. You can <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.bellevuecollege.edu\/studentcentral\/withdraw-permission-for-information\/\">Withdraw Permission for Information<\/a>\u202fat any time.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Congrats, you are registered with the DRC!<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t forget to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/advising\/schedule\/\">Meet with an Academic Advisor<\/a>&nbsp;for support creating an education plan<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Register for Classes and request accommodations in <a href=\"https:\/\/cascade.accessiblelearning.com\/BellevueCollege\">MyDRC<\/a> every quarter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/asc\/\">Academic Success Center (ASC)<\/a> for free virtual and in-person tutoring<a name=\"student-responsibilities\"><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"student-responsibilities\"><strong>Student Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Accommodations require shared responsibility among students, faculty, the Disability Resource Center and Bellevue College. Student responsibilities include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Self-identifying as having a disability <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Completing the DRC registration process<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Making reasonable and timely requests for accommodations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confirming the arrangements for accommodations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Notifying the DRC of any concerns they may have regarding equitable access<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Following the institutional appeal process<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Costs associated with obtaining medical information (if applicable)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You may apply for services at any time.
