Why would you choose an instructional designer to help you build your Canvas site?
Would you like to learn how to create an accessible and engaging online, hybrid, or web-enhanced course in Canvas?
Instructional Designers are available to help instructors design their Canvas sites, based on the most effective instructional design and UDL principles. Both new to online/hybrid teaching and experienced instructors are welcome! Join us in D140 or D126 with access through the Bellevue College Library.
Consultations are available by appointment or walk-in during instructional design office hours, to assist instructors with course design strategies as they relate to the pedagogical delivery of content. These strategies work not only for online and hybrid courses, but also for web-enhanced courses. Since this is the direction Bellevue College is moving in terms of teaching modalities, it is a great opportunity to have a consult about current trends in eLearning:
- To make Canvas courses accessible
- To cater to UDL standards from a design standpoint.
Which ticket or form do I use?
#1 Technology Service Desk TDX ticket for:
Canvas Roles Add or Remove Requests, a New Canvas Shell [Non-Credit], an Incomplete Shell request, External Apps (LTI’s) Request. Contact your Division Operations Director for your divisions Course Merge process.
#2 Digital Learning Design Intake form for:
Instructional Design Consultations and In-depth Course review required.
#3 Request Center (RC) ticket for:
Faculty Design Support of: Accessibility, Canvas Course Content, Canvas Troubleshooting, use of Studio Q and support with Teaching Tools.
Provide Necessary Ticket Information
For all ticket and form requests provide all necessary information within all tickets: Course Quarter, Course Year, Course Name, Course Section number, Course URL, Assignment Name, Assignment URL, Student Name, Student ID and a call back phone number. This expedites the process. We respond within 72 hours.
