Start Teaching with Canvas


Congratulations! You have signed your contract to teach at Bellevue College and now you need to get your BC email and learn how to use your Canvas site as a Teacher.

Learn about a Teacher Role in Canvas

  1. Once you get a Bellevue College SID & PIN, create your BC email. Submit an ITS ticket if you have questions.
  2. If you are an instructor, and have been assigned a course by your Chair or Dean, then you will be automatically assigned the Canvas Faculty Orientation course.
  3. You can find the course by logging into the Canvas login page.
  4. Give yourself 1-2 hours to review the content and to complete the short orientation quiz.
  5. After you complete the quiz create a Request Center Ticket and your eLearning department will add you to your Canvas Sandbox for testing Canvas content.

Additional Information

All users with a Teacher/Assistant Teacher role in Canvas are required to complete the FERPA training.
