Its job is simple: create an accessible HTML version of the PDFs in your course, on demand, while leaving the original documents unchanged.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here&#8217;s the magic trick: find the gray DocAccess logo anywhere a file is linked or embedded in your course. Click it. Wait a bit (high traffic times can take longer) while it transcribes. Watch it turn green. Click the green version to land in the DocAccess viewer, where you can flip between the original Print Friendly View and the new Accessible Transcript View, plus search, print, and download.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s a genuinely useful tool, but it doesn&#8217;t run itself. Here&#8217;s where you come in:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>You&#8217;re the subject matter expert<\/strong>, so you&#8217;re the one who can catch it if the transcription gets something wrong or the image alt text needs fixing. Found an issue? <a href=\"https:\/\/bellevuecollege.teamdynamix.com\/TDClient\/2044\/Portal\/Requests\/Service\/56683\/Request-Changes-to-DocAccess-Remediations-in-Canvas\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/bellevuecollege.teamdynamix.com\/TDClient\/2044\/Portal\/Requests\/Service\/56683\/Request-Changes-to-DocAccess-Remediations-in-Canvas\">Submit a DocAccess Service Desk ticket with ITS<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>You&#8217;re also the course designer<\/strong>, which means: please remove unnecessary, unpublished, or unused PDFs sitting in your course. Fewer PDFs, less AI transcription overhead. Where you can, swap PDFs for accessible Word or PowerPoint files instead.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Making anything new?<\/strong>&nbsp;Try to skip the PDF format altogether going forward.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>And if you&#8217;re mid-remediation:<\/strong>&nbsp;DocAccess is a bridge, not a fix.
