August 15-16<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instructional Designers&nbsp;will conduct interactive workshops and presentations on the following topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applying <strong>Accessibility<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>principles to Word documents and Canvas Pages<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Canvas Tools \u2013 <strong>Active learning environment <\/strong>design using Canvas Syllabus, Gradebook, Groups, Skype for Business and Cranium Caf\u00e9.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UDL \u2013 Incorporating <strong>Universal Design for Learning<\/strong>&nbsp;principles to an online environment&nbsp;when creating Canvas Modules<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Captioning<\/strong> \u2013 Providing Video Captions with an Universal Design Approach using tools like: Screencast-O-matic, SnagIt and YouTube<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We will have four concurrent sessions. Facilitators will demonstrate a concept and share effective examples of activities in Canvas. Each session will have a hands-on component where you will get time to update your current Canvas course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Registration:<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Link to register for the Faculty Summer Institute<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Maximum number of participants: <\/strong>40<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Time:<\/strong>&nbsp; August 15 &amp; August 16 &#8211; 8 a.m. &#8211; 4 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Last Date to Register: <\/strong>August 7<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;Bellevue College Main Campus \u2013 Library Media Center<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Meals:<\/strong> Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Breakfast will begin at 8am.
