Your instructor may require you to use Respondus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you use a campus computer, LockDown Browser has already been installed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For personal devices: LockDown Browser must be installed on each computer (Windows or Mac) used to take a test. You must have administrative rights to install applications to install Lockdown Browser.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will not be able to take a quiz on your work computer, or a public computer outside the campus, because you do not have admin rights on those devices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<section class=\"accordion-section-wrapper section section-xlight\">\n\t<div class=\"container-xl\">\n\t\t<div class=\"row\">\n\t\t\t\n<div class=\"accordion-section-content col-md-8\">\n\t<div class=\"accordion-section-heading\">\n\t\t<h2>How to Use Respondus LockDown Browser<\/h2>\n\t\t\n\t<\/div>\n\t\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mayflower-blocks-collapsibles accordion\" id=\"accordion_a6935da0-2a77-4b7d-acf2-49849c95fed8\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-mayflower-blocks-collapse accordion-item\"><h3 class=\"accordion-header mb-0\" id=\"heading_2c3fa0fd-fce3-4ae7-baad-1a2781b30482\"><button class=\"accordion-button bg-default text-bg-default\n\t\t collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse_2c3fa0fd-fce3-4ae7-baad-1a2781b30482\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse_2c3fa0fd-fce3-4ae7-baad-1a2781b30482\">Install Respondus on Your Computer<\/button><\/h3><div id=\"collapse_2c3fa0fd-fce3-4ae7-baad-1a2781b30482\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"heading_2c3fa0fd-fce3-4ae7-baad-1a2781b30482\" data-parent=\"#accordion_a6935da0-2a77-4b7d-acf2-49849c95fed8\" data-bs-parent=\"#accordion_a6935da0-2a77-4b7d-acf2-49849c95fed8\"><div class=\"accordion-body bg-default text-bg-default\n\t\t\">\n<p>Your first step is to install Respondus Lockdown Browser on the computer you&#8217;ll use to take the exam. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You must have administrative rights on the computer to install Lockdown Browser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mayflower-blocks-button-group btn-group\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-mayflower-blocks-button\"><a class=\"btn btn-primary   \" href=\"https:\/\/support.respondus.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/4409607231003-How-do-I-install-LockDown-Browser\" aria-disabled=\"false\">Learn How to Install Respondus<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mayflower-blocks-collapse accordion-item\"><h3 class=\"accordion-header mb-0\" id=\"heading_0b757413-a4ad-4bee-9802-d7c0521ff695\"><button class=\"accordion-button bg-default text-bg-default\n\t\t collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse_0b757413-a4ad-4bee-9802-d7c0521ff695\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse_0b757413-a4ad-4bee-9802-d7c0521ff695\">Downloading the Respondus LockDown Browser\/Monitor<\/button><\/h3><div id=\"collapse_0b757413-a4ad-4bee-9802-d7c0521ff695\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"heading_0b757413-a4ad-4bee-9802-d7c0521ff695\" data-parent=\"#accordion_a6935da0-2a77-4b7d-acf2-49849c95fed8\" data-bs-parent=\"#accordion_a6935da0-2a77-4b7d-acf2-49849c95fed8\"><div class=\"accordion-body bg-default text-bg-default\n\t\t\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log in to Canvas and navigate to the quiz that will be using the Lockdown Browser.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the quiz. You should see a hyperlink that says, \u201cDownload Respondus Lockdown Browser.\u201d Clicking this will bring you to the download page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the Install Now button to download a zip file (.zip).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open the downloads folder and run the \u201cInstall Respondus Lockdown Browser file.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accept the terms, set the location where you want Respondus to be installed on your computer, and then complete the installation process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: If you have an older version of the browser already installed, you may need to uninstall it and install the latest version using the instructions above.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mayflower-blocks-collapse accordion-item\"><h3 class=\"accordion-header mb-0\" id=\"heading_a4c00d67-e0c3-42ca-8303-a56ebb4231e7\"><button class=\"accordion-button bg-default text-bg-default\n\t\t collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse_a4c00d67-e0c3-42ca-8303-a56ebb4231e7\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse_a4c00d67-e0c3-42ca-8303-a56ebb4231e7\">Taking a Quiz\/Exam<\/button><\/h3><div id=\"collapse_a4c00d67-e0c3-42ca-8303-a56ebb4231e7\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"heading_a4c00d67-e0c3-42ca-8303-a56ebb4231e7\" data-parent=\"#accordion_a6935da0-2a77-4b7d-acf2-49849c95fed8\" data-bs-parent=\"#accordion_a6935da0-2a77-4b7d-acf2-49849c95fed8\"><div class=\"accordion-body bg-default text-bg-default\n\t\t\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Close all programs currently running.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Locate the \u201cLockDown Browser\u201d shortcut on the desktop and double-click it. (For Mac users, launch \u201cLockDown Browser\u201d from the Applications folder.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If prompted to close a blocked program (e.g. screen capture, instant messaging), choose Yes when prompted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the Choose Server dialog box, select BC Canvas and click OK. This will take you to the Canvas login page, where you can log in and access your course.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Navigate to the quiz and select the Take a Quiz link.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once a quiz starts with LockDown Browser, you cannot exit until the Submit Answers button is clicked.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After completing your quiz and clicking Submit Answers, close LockDown Browser and log back into your course using your preferred browser before doing any additional work in the course.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mayflower-blocks-collapse accordion-item\"><h3 class=\"accordion-header mb-0\" id=\"heading_30beb69c-2586-4d0f-b643-fe5ca3d918e6\"><button class=\"accordion-button bg-default text-bg-default\n\t\t collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse_30beb69c-2586-4d0f-b643-fe5ca3d918e6\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse_30beb69c-2586-4d0f-b643-fe5ca3d918e6\">Taking a Quiz\/Exam Using the Respondus Monitor<\/button><\/h3><div id=\"collapse_30beb69c-2586-4d0f-b643-fe5ca3d918e6\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"heading_30beb69c-2586-4d0f-b643-fe5ca3d918e6\" data-parent=\"#accordion_a6935da0-2a77-4b7d-acf2-49849c95fed8\" data-bs-parent=\"#accordion_a6935da0-2a77-4b7d-acf2-49849c95fed8\"><div class=\"accordion-body bg-default text-bg-default\n\t\t\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Close all programs currently running.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Locate the \u201cLockDown Browser\u201d shortcut on the desktop&nbsp;and double-click it. (For Mac users, launch \u201cLockDown&nbsp;Browser\u201d from the Applications folder.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If your exam requires using a webcam (sometimes referred to as Respondus Monitor), you\u2019ll be guided through a brief set of screens before the start of the exam.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The first screen is a webcam check, where you can make sure the webcam is working properly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your instructor may require additional steps, such as showing your identification or recording a brief video of your examination setting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the exam begins, a \u201cRecording\u201d icon will appear at the top right of the screen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Don\u2019t attempt to exit the exam until you\u2019re finished. Additionally, you won\u2019t be able to print, copy, access other applications, or go to other websites during the exam.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When the exam is submitted for grading, the webcam will stop recording, and you may exit LockDown Browser.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For your reference, you can review the Terms of Use for the Respondus Monitor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mayflower-blocks-button-group btn-group\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-mayflower-blocks-button\"><a class=\"btn btn-primary   \" href=\"https:\/\/web.respondus.com\/tou-monitor-student\/\" aria-disabled=\"false\">Review Respondus Monitor Terms of Use<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mayflower-blocks-collapse accordion-item\"><h3 class=\"accordion-header mb-0\" id=\"heading_5e9d21b7-8d70-4dbe-8dc7-d6e466016244\"><button class=\"accordion-button bg-default text-bg-default\n\t\t collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse_5e9d21b7-8d70-4dbe-8dc7-d6e466016244\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse_5e9d21b7-8d70-4dbe-8dc7-d6e466016244\">Testing Guidelines<\/button><\/h3><div id=\"collapse_5e9d21b7-8d70-4dbe-8dc7-d6e466016244\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"heading_5e9d21b7-8d70-4dbe-8dc7-d6e466016244\" data-parent=\"#accordion_a6935da0-2a77-4b7d-acf2-49849c95fed8\" data-bs-parent=\"#accordion_a6935da0-2a77-4b7d-acf2-49849c95fed8\"><div class=\"accordion-body bg-default text-bg-default\n\t\t\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Students are required to establish identity following the procedures outlined in the Respondus Monitor instructions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lighting in the room must be bright enough to be considered \u201cdaylight\u201d quality<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be sure the desk or table is cleared of all other materials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Close all other programs and\/or windows on the testing computer before logging into the proctored test environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You must not leave the room during the testing period at any time<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not use a phone for any reason. If you are taking the quiz on your laptop, you need admin rights on that machine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If Respondus does not work as expected, contact the <a href=\"https:\/\/bellevuecollege.teamdynamix.com\/TDClient\/2044\/Portal\/Home\/\">ITS Service Desk<\/a>&nbsp;by phone, chat, or ticketing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Respondus also offers detailed articles, videos, and support to help you with problems you encounter with the browser.
