She teaches environmental science along with some oceanography and geology. Her academic background is in paleoceanography and paleoclimatology which investigates the earth\u2019s climate and ocean in the past. She has a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Earth Sciences from Boston University, and a PhD in Oceanography from Texas A&amp;M University.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She spent two years as a Postdoctoral Researcher in The School of Oceanography at the University of Washington where her work focused on cycling of methane and iron in marine sediment.
