Confronting Conflict (s) eries – Unveiling the Truth of the Seattle Black Lives Matter Movement
February 4, 2021, 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm Online - MS Teams
Description
In light of the recent awareness of systemic issues and their long-term effects within the black community, the Black Student Union wanted to further address the efforts of combating anti-blackness by hosting a series of weekly open-forums. This shall allow a brave space for students, faculty, staff, BIPOC members; allies; community figures; and other guests to openly discuss issues, share personal experiences; showcase solidarity; and listen closely to various concepts around the black community.
In this first week of Black history month, we will be showcasing the truth behind the BLM movement through the lens of fellow members of the community that have been actively involved movement. We want to take this time to show the real side that the media didn’t show, and spread more light on a different perspective.
