Humaira Jackson earned a BA from Concordia University, Montreal, Quebec and a MA in Economics from Carleton University. After holding positions in government and banking, she found a love of teaching and has taught at BC for almost twenty years.
Along with teaching classes in Economics, Humaira is passionate about racial justice and has participated in many student success initiatives at BC, along with leading workshops for faculty. Humaira has been teaching online classes since inception and has mentored faculty over the years as BC has moved to various learning systems.
Humaira finds collaboration among faculty most rewarding. Whether through teaching IDS classes, working within her department help improve learning and teaching practices or leading the Business team on Guided Pathways, she believes that the sum is greater than the parts. She is particularly excited about starting in Fall 2021 as the FC’s new Data PD Liaison Lead.
