Faculty Workshops on Course Internationalization

What is course internationalization?

Course Internationalization  – “a process by which international elements are infused into course content, international resources are used in course readings and assignments, and instructional methodologies appropriate to a culturally diverse student population are implemented.”

What is BC’s Faculty Fellows for Course Internationalization Program?

The program brings together an interdisciplinary cohort of faculty who are interested in internationalizing their courses. The cohort attends 4 workshops facilitated by the Office of Global Initiatives where participants first learn the theory, then develop a plan for internationalizing the course and finally implement the plan by infusing international elements in an existing course or developing a new internationalized course.

What do participants learn?

Topics include:

  • Internationalization in Higher Education
  • The Rationale for Internationalization
  • Curriculum Internationalization
  • Levels of Curriculum Internationalization
  • Course Internationalization Rubric
  • Student Learning Outcomes and Assessment
  • Course Materials, Content and Assignment
