<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p> This is a program primarily for foreign students coming to the United States to pursue a full-course of study at the accredited post-secondary educational institution in the United States <em>(22 CFR 62.23)<\/em>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"tab_link_943d03f4-078a-4ec9-930a-60459cd47010\" class=\"wp-block-mayflower-blocks-tab-content-panel tab-pane\" id=\"tab_943d03f4-078a-4ec9-930a-60459cd47010\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-bc-blue-color has-text-color\"><strong>Who Should Apply for J-1 Exchange? <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p> You should apply for a J-1 Exchange Student, instead of an F-1 full-time student, <strong>when you are substantially supported by any source other than personal or your family funds or when you meet the funding requirements outlined in <em> 22 CFR 62.23(c)(4)<\/em><\/strong>. The funding source could be a scholarship, fellowship, or other funding program from an external source, like Bellevue College, your home government, or an international corporate sponsor that the United States is a member by treaty or statute. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"tab_link_8eaff02c-77ff-40a8-8c8a-9ae158d78342\" class=\"wp-block-mayflower-blocks-tab-content-panel tab-pane\" id=\"tab_8eaff02c-77ff-40a8-8c8a-9ae158d78342\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-bc-blue-color has-text-color\"><strong>Differences between J-1 Exchange and F-1 Student visa? <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"mayflower-tablepress-wrap\">\n<table id=\"tablepress-1\" class=\"tablepress tablepress-id-1 table\">\n<thead>\n<tr class=\"row-1\">\n\t<th class=\"column-1\"><h3>J-1 <b>Exchange <\/b>Student Visa\/Status<\/h3><\/th><td class=\"column-2\"><\/td><th class=\"column-3\"><h3>F-1 <b>International <\/b>Student Visa\/Status<\/h3><\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<\/thead>\n<tbody class=\"row-striping row-hover\">\n<tr class=\"row-2\">\n\t<td class=\"column-1\">Funding must come <b>from a source other than personal or family funds<\/b>. On-Campus employment is limited to part-time while school is in session and may be full-time during the official school breaks or the student's authorized vacation term. <br \/>\n<b>Employment must be approved by the Responsible Officer (RO) or Alternative Responsible Officer (ARO) in the OIEGI office in advance and prior to working.<\/b><\/td><td class=\"column-2\"><h4><b> On-Campus Employment<\/b><\/h4><\/td><td class=\"column-3\">F-1 Students in good academic standing can work on-campus part-time while school is in session and may work full-time during school breaks or on an authorized vacation term.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr class=\"row-4\">\n\t<td class=\"column-1\">J-2 dependents can study part-time or full-time in the U.S.<\/td><td class=\"column-2\"><h4><b> Can Dependents (J-2 or F-2) Study in the U.S.?<\/b><\/h4><\/td><td class=\"column-3\">F-2 minors can attend Kindergarten through 12th grade full time. General Admission Requirements:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Completed an <a href=\"https:\/\/international.bellevuecollege.edu\">online J-1 Exchange Student Application Form<\/a>. <em>Follow the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/globalinitiatives\/j-1-exchange-programs\/how-to-apply\/\">How-To-Apply Instructions for J-1 Exchange Programs<\/a>&#8221; page to create an account and fill out an application. <\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$50 Non-Refundable application fee, due with application<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$500 Non-Refundable program process fee, due with application<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$750 Non-Refundable program process fee <strong>per dependent<\/strong> (spouse\/child), due with application<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Per J-1 Exchange Student (ES) immigration regulations, an ES must be financed directly or indirectly by the U.S. Government or the government of their home country, or be supported substantially <strong>(more than 51%) by funding from any source other than personal or family funds<\/strong>. <\/em>Official bank statement and financial supporting documents, in English, with a minimum <strong>total<\/strong> balance of $26,591 USD (or $36,457 USD for bachelor&#8217;s programs).\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An additional $5,000 is required per dependent (spouse\/child)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Financial statement and support documents must be dated within six (6) months of application<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy of Student&#8217;s passport ID page, including expiration date<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy of passport ID page of each dependent that travels with Student to the U.S.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Official transcript in English from current or previous school<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of English language proficiency for Associate &amp;
