The Healthcare Management & Leadership student handbook is a useful resource for all students. It contains helpful information about campus resources as well as campus wide and program specific policies and procedures. This is a living document and updates to occur occasionally. Please read it carefully.
The college will be sending all important messages to your @bellevuecollege.edu email address. If you don’t want to have to check it regularly, you can forward those emails to an address that you use more frequently.
When you’ve been admitted to the BAS program, you will sit down with the HCML Program Manager and work out an educational plan for completing your degree requirements. Your plan will be individually tailored to fit your interests, your previous coursework, and your schedule. You can review your educational plan throughout the program to make sure you’re staying on track.
As you progress through the program, it’s important to check in periodically with the Program Manager and update your educational plan. We use these plans to estimate enrollment for upcoming quarters and plan our curriculum to meet demand. You can help us make sure the courses you want are available when you want them by letting us know anytime you make changes to the courses outlined on your plan.
In many cases, as a student admitted to the Healthcare Management & Leadership program, you can register for HCML courses without an entry code. However, there are a few courses that will still require them. Additionally, current healthcare professionals and students may take courses through our program if space is available. If you need an entry code to register for the upcoming quarter, please complete the Entry Code Request Form!
When you are ready to register for your quarterly classes, register online through the college website. Some of our courses are in high demand–there are more students who want to enroll than we have seats – so be sure to register for your classes as soon as possible.
Check out the Bellevue College Bookstore for your textbooks and other school supplies. The BC Bookstore offers price comparing and options for book rental. If no book is listed for your course, please email the instructor directly.
Canvas is a web-based software that allows student and teachers to interact online in a classroom setting. While your classes are virtual, you will be expected to log on in the first day or two of class for attendance and regularly each week throughout the quarter. This might include checking in daily to read new posts or announcements.
Healthcare Management & Leadership students will need to complete this form if they wish to request a reference letter for a job, application, or nomination. Please make sure to submit this request at least 2 weeks before the reference letter is needed.
