{"id":177,"date":"2013-11-26T08:17:58","date_gmt":"2013-11-26T16:17:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/health\/?page_id=177"},"modified":"2023-01-11T08:06:15","modified_gmt":"2023-01-11T16:06:15","slug":"immunizations","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/health\/advising\/immunizations\/","title":{"rendered":"Immunizations"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Health Sciences programs also require immunizations.&nbsp; Again, these are to some extent specific to each program, and the information below only provides an overview.&nbsp; You should check with the program you are interested in for details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Tuberculin Status (TB Skin Test, also called a PPD test)<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Initial 2-step TST is required <strong>AND<\/strong> confirmation of initial 2-step completion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If no records of previous positive TB tests or more than 12 months since last TST then 2-step TST OR<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Negative TB IGRA test within 12 months <strong>OR<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If negative TST within 12 months &#8211;&gt; 1-step TST<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If newly positive TST or TB IGRA &#8211;&gt; Follow up healthcare provider (chest X-ray, symptoms check and possible treatment documentation of absence of active M. TB disease) and need to complete health questionnaire<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If history of positive TST &#8211;&gt; provide results of TST reading, provide proof of chest X-ray documenting absence of M. TB, medical treatment and negative symptom check<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If history of BCG vaccine &#8211;&gt; TST Skin Testing as above or TB IGRA. If negative &#8211;&gt; OK; If positive &#8211;&gt; follow-up as above<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Hepatitis B<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Series of 3 vaccines completed at appropriate time intervals and post vaccination antibody titer at 6-8 weeks after series completion. If negative antibody titer, then repeat series (consisting of doses number 4 &#8211; number 6) and repeat titer 6-8 weeks after number 6 dose. OR obtain challenge dose number 4 and re-titer after 6-8 weeks <strong>OR<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide results of positive titer (anti-HBs or HepB Sab) <strong>OR<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Signed declination for students\/faculty who decline vaccination<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Specific healthcare institutions may require vaccination without exception (i.e. no declination)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>MMR (Measles,&nbsp; Mumps, Rubella)<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Proof of vaccination (2 doses at appropriate intervals) <strong>OR<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of Measles immunity by titer <strong>AND<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of Mumps immunity by titer <strong>AND<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of Rubella immunity by titer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Varicella (Chicken Pox)<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Proof of vaccination (2 doses administered at least 4 weeks apart) <strong>OR<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of immunity by titer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tdap vaccination required once after age 11 <strong>AND<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Td required every 10 years after Tdap<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Influenza (Flu Vaccine)<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Proof of seasonal vaccination(s) <strong>OR<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Signed declination for student\/faculty who decline vaccination<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Specific healthcare institutions may require vaccination without exception (i.e. no declination) <a href=\"http:\/\/flushot.healthmap.org\/\">http:\/\/flushot.healthmap.org\/<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have further questions pertaining to your personal vaccine history, reach out to your medical provider for further clarification.
