The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/current-students\/student-central\/processing-dashboard\/\">Student Central Processing Dashboard<\/a> should be used to check for current updates on processing prerequisite requests and transferring\/evaluating credits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>After students are registered for their first quarter at Bellevue College, they should follow the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/admissions-aid\/getting-started\/transfer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">steps to officially transfer their credits in<\/a>. <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mayflower-blocks-collapse card bg-default text-bg-default\"><div class=\"card-header\" id=\"heading_0fd149a8-a778-4a07-a677-ee6ff9ac665c\"><h3 class=\"mb-0\"><button class=\"btn collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-target=\"#collapse_0fd149a8-a778-4a07-a677-ee6ff9ac665c\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse_0fd149a8-a778-4a07-a677-ee6ff9ac665c\">Why am I having issues registering on ctcLink?<\/button><\/h3><\/div><div id=\"collapse_0fd149a8-a778-4a07-a677-ee6ff9ac665c\" class=\"collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"heading_0fd149a8-a778-4a07-a677-ee6ff9ac665c\" data-parent=\"#accordion_8ff44202-b08e-4edf-bc73-e1cc65739a0b\" data-bs-parent=\"#accordion_8ff44202-b08e-4edf-bc73-e1cc65739a0b\"><div class=\"card-body\">\n<p>Common ctcLink errors students experience when trying to register:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>When a box pops up asking for a permission code ignore it and click &#8220;save&#8221;. <strong>Bottom line: the system will always ask for a permission code even if students don\u2019t need one.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the quarter you are trying to register for is not an option you may need to fill out the <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.bellevuecollege.edu\/studentcentral\/term-activate\/?_gl=1*5ngxry*_ga*NDMyNTk3NzM0LjE2NDcwMjgzMDI.*_ga_D205WT30XL*MTY1ODI1OTIzMC4zNzUuMS4xNjU4MjYzNTEzLjU0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Term Quarter Activation Request Form<\/a>. Once registered students should follow the steps below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Submit official transcript(s) to Bellevue College<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check \u201cAdvisor Notes\u201d on your <a href=\"https:\/\/myaccount.ctclink.us\/\">ctcLink account<\/a> to verify that your official transcript has been received<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Only after you see that your transcript has been received<\/strong> <strong>will you then fill out a <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.bellevuecollege.edu\/studentcentral\/evaluation-of-transfer\/\"><strong>transfer credit request form<\/strong><\/a> where you will select the degree you are pursuing. This creates a ticket to evaluations to apply your transfer credits to the appropriate degree pathway <strong>(<em>note: if you pursue the Bachelor\u2019s degree after, you will need to fill out this form again)<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If IT course substitutions have been approved by the program chair please contact the <a href=\"mailto:alysa.dobrowolski@bellevuecollege.edu\">program manager<\/a> after credits have been officially transferred in so that they can fill out a substitution form<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>It can take 6-8 weeks for credits to officially transfer over. The best option is dependent upon the students individual academic goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Course Challenge (for credit):<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If a student is pursuing a credential\/degree and does not have any credits that can be substituted for the course requirement, the student will need to take the course challenge exam to get the credit (costs 40% of tuition). As long as the student passes the exam they will be awarded the credit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Example<strong>:<\/strong> A student has been working in the field as a programmer and learned C# on their own. Although they already have the knowledge of PROG 110 course, they are working towards the AAS-T Software Development degree and still need credit for the class in order to graduate. This student would take the course challenge exam.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Waiver Exam (no credit):<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If a student is pursuing a credential\/degree and has OLD credits that can be substituted for the course requirement, or does not need the credit for a particular class to achieve their academic goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Example:<\/em> <em>A student has been working in the field as a programmer and learned C# on their own. They already have the knowledge of PROG 110 course, and would like entry into PROG 120 (which requires PROG 110 as a prerequisite). They are &#8220;cherry-picking&#8221; courses for continuing education and are not pursuing a credential\/degree which requires PROG 110 to graduate.
