BC campus is open in coming weeks, and there will be several International Education (IE) staff available to help you in person and remotely by email and phones. IE office’s regular business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Each student’s case is different, so please contact your IE advisor for specific advice. Your IE advisor has access to your academic and immigration records, and they are the most reliable staff to give you proper advice. Please see Q2.

Immigration Related Topics for F-1 Students:

Each student’s situation is unique. We strongly suggest you communicate with your advisor first (See Q2). Please contact your IE advisor for possible options as well as pros and cons for each option. Our job is to help you make an informed decision.

International Education has been in contact with the SEVP and is waiting to hear for more clear guidance. While COVID-19 hit Washington State the hardest for now, this situation is still not common for the rest of the U.S. IE will let you know as soon as we get more clear guidance from SEVP.

Please contact your IE advisor for available options and pros and cons of each option. Please complete the Departure Request form and submit it to IE. If you are absent from school in the US for more than 5 consecutive months, you may need to re-apply for an F-1 visa.

International Education (IE) will remain open during the next three weeks from March 9 to 27, 2020 with reduced on-ground staff. You may come to the IE office in room B-144 during the office hours to drop off and pick-up your I-20.

Your IE advisor will still be able to process your transfer-out process in a timely manner. You may send a follow-up email to your IE advisor to make sure the request is completed in a timely manner.

IE office will remain open, so you will be contacted by IE staff via BC student email. Between March 9 and 27, 2020, BC’s mail services may be slower than normal; however, IE staff will look out for your mail.

Check current I-20 expiration date and contact your IE advisor immediately. You may need to have a new bank statement to extend your I-20 form. F-1 students are advised to start working on an extension with your advisor at least 45 days before the expiration date.

Please have your MD sign the Medical Reduced Course Load form and submit it to your IE advisor as soon as possible. When your IE advisor approves it, you will be notified via BC student email. Medical RCL must be approved and processed before the end of the quarter, so contact your IE advisor as soon as you can.
