It does&nbsp;<strong>not<\/strong>&nbsp;allow off-campus work, except in limited situations that are usually related to your studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>*** Please be advised that working off-campus without authorization is illegal. ***<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are an F-1 student&nbsp;on&nbsp;Bellevue College\u2019s I-20, you may work on campus at Bellevue College while enrolling full-time.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-white-color has-bc-blue-background-color has-text-color has-background\">Work Hours<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Up to&nbsp;<strong>19 hours\/week<\/strong>&nbsp;during the school year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Up to&nbsp;<strong>40 hours\/week<\/strong>&nbsp;during breaks or authorized vacation quarters<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You may work in more than one department, but cannot exceed the hour limits above<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-white-color has-bc-blue-background-color has-text-color has-background\">How to Find Jobs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Connect with the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/careers\/\">Center for Career Connections<\/a><\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/careers\/resources\/resume-cover-letter\/\">Learn how to create a resume<\/a>&nbsp;to apply for jobs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ask departments directly if they are hiring:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/stupro-jobs\/\">Student Engagement and Housing Jobs<\/a>&nbsp;(most positions open in Spring)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/careers\/resources\/handshake\/\">Download Handshake<\/a>&nbsp;to view on-campus student jobs in Campus Operations, Computer Lab, Gym, Library, Student Programs, Academic Success Center, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Note:<\/strong>&nbsp;<em>Work Study<\/em>&nbsp;jobs are not available to international students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-white-color has-bc-blue-background-color has-text-color has-background\">Once you have a Job Offer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Print\u00a0<\/strong>the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/180\/2026\/05\/t2-on-campus-employment-form.docx\">On-Campus Employment Authorization form<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fill&nbsp;<\/strong>it out with your supervisor (the one who offered you the job).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Submit&nbsp;<\/strong>it to your <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/international\/current-students\/advising\/\">International Advisor<\/a> and wait for approval.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>After approval:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Give a copy to your job supervisor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take the original form, your passport, and I-20 to the Social Security Office to apply for a Social Security card<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong>&nbsp;You must stop working as soon as you graduate&nbsp;even if you have applied for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/international\/current-students\/opt\/\">Optional Practical Training<\/a>, are&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/international\/current-students\/advising\/transfer-planning\/\">transferring to another school<\/a> or your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/international\/current-students\/regain-f-1-status\/\">F-1 status is&nbsp;terminated<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The F-1 student visa is for students who are enrolled in a full program of study.
