Applicants should have prior formal English study at a middle\/high school, college, or English school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those who receive a placement test score below Level 1 must consult the English Language Institute Program Chair to determine suitability. This test will begin to be sent out 1-2 months before classes start and must be completed before you can enroll in your classes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Level 1<\/strong>: <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Students build basic skills in writing, reading, and speaking\/listening. They focus on sentence structure, verb tenses, and writing processes. In reading, they improve comprehension and vocabulary.
