The shortest loan period is two hours. The longest loan period is three days. This is called renewing an item. You can do this in person,&nbsp;<a>online <\/a>through your <a href=\"https:\/\/sbctc-bellevuecollege.primo.exlibrisgroup.com\/discovery\/account?vid=01STATEWA_BELCC:BELLEVUE&amp;section=overview\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/sbctc-bellevuecollege.primo.exlibrisgroup.com\/discovery\/account?vid=01STATEWA_BELCC:BELLEVUE&amp;section=overview\">library account<\/a>,&nbsp;or via phone by calling the Circulation Desk at 425-564-2252.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some items cannot be renewed or have limits on how many times they can be renewed. See the loan periods chart for details on what items can be renewed.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/aside>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t<hr class=\"section-divider\" \/>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"section section-white body-section-wrapper alignfull wp-block-bc-sitka-spruce-body-section\">\n\t<div class=\"container-xl\">\n\t\t<div class=\"row\">\n\t\t\t\n<div class=\"body-section-content col-md-8\">\n\t\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Have an Item Held for You<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Holds may be placed on books, magazines, journals, and DVDs in the library. This means that the item will be pulled from the shelf and waiting for you behind the front desk. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also place a hold on an item checked out by another user. You will be notified by email when the item is ready for you to pickup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mayflower-blocks-button\"><a class=\"btn btn-primary   \" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ywTNDE9KatM\" aria-disabled=\"false\">Instructions for Placing a Hold on an Item<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"callout-wrapper col\">\n\t<aside class=\"callout text-margin-reset \">\n\t\t<h3 class=\"callout__heading card-title-small\">Want an item someone else has?<\/h3>\n\t\t<p>When a student places a hold on an item another student has borrowed, the original student cannot extend their loan. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"callout__links\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/aside>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t<hr class=\"section-divider\" \/>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overdue Items<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<p>When materials become overdue, the borrower will be notified by email. If a library user has returned library item(s) that are still showing on their record, please call 425-564-2252, visit the Circulation Desk, or email the&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:circulation@bellevuecollege.edu\">Circulation Department<\/a>&nbsp;for assistance.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<p>If course reserve items and equipment including calculators and hotspots are not returned within three days of the due date, the borrower will be billed a replacement cost for the items. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<p>If books and magazines are not returned within&nbsp;<a>21 days<\/a>&nbsp;of the due date,&nbsp;the borrower will be billed a replacement cost for the items.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<p>Replacement costs vary depending on the item. The bill will be sent to the borrower by email and the fees will show up in their Financial Account on ctcLink.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<section class=\"section section-white body-section-wrapper alignfull wp-block-bc-sitka-spruce-body-section\">\n\t<div class=\"container-xl\">\n\t\t<div class=\"row\">\n\t\t\t\n<div class=\"body-section-content col-md-8\">\n\t\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Returning Items<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a>Library materials can be returned to the Circulation Desk during library open&nbsp;<\/a>hours, or the book-drop outside of the main library entrance at any time. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Faculty and staff may send library materials to Library Circulation, Mailstop D260.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"callout-wrapper col\">\n\t<aside class=\"callout text-margin-reset \">\n\t\t<h3 class=\"callout__heading card-title-small\">Hotspot Returns<\/h3>\n\t\t<p>Hotspots must be returned to the front desk of the library during open hours. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/aside>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t<hr class=\"section-divider\" \/>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Damaged Items<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<p>All library users are responsible for the materials they check out. If materials are damaged while in the possession of the user and are beyond repair or no longer able to circulate (examples of damage include soiled pages or water damage, teeth marks, mold, mildew, missing or torn pages), replacement costs will be charged as for Lost Materials.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<p>Checking out and checking in damaged materials:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Upon checking out items with minor damages,&nbsp;<a>staff&nbsp;will&nbsp;note&nbsp;existing damage&nbsp;on the due date slip with descriptions of the damage (writing, marking, broken spine, loose pages, etc.),&nbsp;date, and initials.&nbsp;<\/a>If damage is repairable, a hold will be placed to send item for repair when returned.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Items slightly damaged\u202fbut fixable (barcodes\u202ftorn or cut out, etc.) cannot be checked out until fixed.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Staff will carefully&nbsp;examine returned materials before checking in. Borrowers will be contacted for replacement only when&nbsp;<a>it is clear that the<\/a>&nbsp;item is&nbsp;newly damaged and beyond repair&nbsp;(Unreadable condition; wet, torn, or&nbsp;missing covers\/pages,&nbsp;heavy stains, mold, blood borne pathogens, etc.)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lost Materials<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<p><a>All library users are responsible for returning borrowed items on time and in good condition.&nbsp; If an item is still showing checked-out to a library user who feels that they have already returned that item, the library will conduct a search and will communicate the results to the user.<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A library user who would like to appeal the staff\u2019s decision may email&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:circulation@bellevuecollege.edu\" data-type=\"mailto\" data-id=\"mailto:circulation@bellevuecollege.edu\">the Circulation Department.<\/a>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Circulation staff will forward the library user\u2019s appeal to the&nbsp;<a>Associate Dean&nbsp;<\/a>of the Library with any relevant information and documentation.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Associate Dean will review the appeal and make a final decision within seven days of its receipt.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stolen Items or Items Lost Beyond the User&#8217;s Control<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<p>Library users whose borrowed items&nbsp;<a>were stolen, lost<\/a>,&nbsp;or damaged due to circumstances beyond their control may call 425-564-2252 or visit the Circulation Desk to speak with staff.
