Community members who are not students or employees at Bellevue College or other Washington Community and Technical Colleges (CTClink learning institutions) are classified as \u2018Community Borrowers.\u2019 Community borrowers can visit the library free of charge and may attain a Community Borrowers Card.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t<hr class=\"section-divider\" \/>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"section section-white body-section-wrapper alignfull wp-block-bc-sitka-spruce-body-section\">\n\t<div class=\"container-xl\">\n\t\t<div class=\"row\">\n\t\t\t\n<div class=\"body-section-content col-md-8\">\n\t\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Community Borrower Eligibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Community Borrowing is reserved for Bellevue College Alumni and King County or Seattle residents who are not students or employees of Bellevue College, BC.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t<hr class=\"section-divider\" \/>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Community Borrower Card Registration<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Prospective borrowers must provide proof of residence and photo identification and fill out the Community Borrower Agreement upon registration. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prospective borrowers may provide any of the following documents as proof of residence or photo identification:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Photo identification: acceptable documents include driver\u2019s license, Washington ID Card, or passport<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of residence: acceptable documents include but are not limited to printed checks, utility bill, apartment lease, bank statement or mail addressed to the borrower\u2019s residence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Community Borrowing Cards are issued for a period of one year from the date of issuance. There will be no borrowing during breaks between quarters when the library is closed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A written policy agreement will be signed by the card holder at the time of issuance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Community Borrowing Cardholder Responsibility<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Community borrowers will be subject to the same circulation policies for students including loan periods, due dates, renewals, fines, and replacement costs as reflected in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/lmc\/about-us\/guidelines\/borrowing\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"154\">BC Library Borrowing Guidelines.<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Borrowers must present the Community borrowing card and picture ID at each library check out.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Community borrowers are limited to check out no more than two items at a time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Course reserve items may only be checked out and used inside the library for a period not exceeding two hours.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Community borrowers are not eligible for online privileges (databases, online journals, and e-books) or student privileges (King County Library, KCLS, student databases).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Equipment and audio-visual materials are not eligible to be checked out.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n<section class=\"section section-white body-section-wrapper alignfull wp-block-bc-sitka-spruce-body-section\">\n\t<div class=\"container-xl\">\n\t\t<div class=\"row\">\n\t\t\t\n<div class=\"body-section-content col-md-8\">\n\t\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reciprocal Borrowing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Washington State Community and Technical Colleges recognize the value of joint collection use of libraries of similar purpose and support reciprocal access to each other\u2019s circulating library materials as an alternative to interlibrary loan. Reciprocal borrowing privileges are available to students enrolled in participating colleges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bellevue College Library endorses the reciprocal agreement in the interest of meeting students&#8217; needs and providing convenient access to information. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reciprocal borrowers may check out circulating library materials with a valid school ID card from their institution, as well as an additional ID with current address.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reciprocal borrowers will have their BC library user accounts created in Alma with their school ID number. The circulation staff may contact the borrower\u2019s home institution for verification of enrollment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Borrowing privileges of reciprocal borrowers extend to books, periodicals, and CDs\/DVDs but do not include course reserves and equipment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Borrowing privileges of reciprocal borrowers are subject to Bellevue College Library <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/lmc\/about-us\/guidelines\/borrowing\/\">Circulation Policies<\/a> including loan periods, renewals, and fines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reciprocal borrowers must return borrowed library materials to Bellevue College Library.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reciprocal borrowers are responsible for all materials checked out on their account.
