Two sessions are offered: The first one is\u00a0<strong>at 2:30 pm in N201<\/strong> and the second is\u00a0<strong>at 3:00 pm in B104.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each year the American Mathematical Association of Two Year Colleges (AMATYC) organization offers students the chance to participate in a nationwide math competition.&nbsp; Twice each academic year, Student Mathematics League (SML) is administered at two-year colleges all over the country.&nbsp; Each college submits a team score consisting of the total of the five <strong>best performances<\/strong> by individual students at that college.&nbsp; After each round, all teams are ranked regionally and nationally, and high-scoring individuals are also ranked. There is also $3000 scholarship prize awarded to the national champion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/137\/2026\/02\/AMATYC-Poster-Winter-2026-1.pdf\">AMATYC Winter 2026<\/a> Poster<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>General Instruction:<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>60 minute, timed test<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>20 multiple choice, precalculus questions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students arriving late will not be allowed to participate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>BC&#8217;s team score is the sum of the 5 best individual efforts (no student simply participating for fun will hurt the team)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>+2 points for each correct answer, -0.5 point for each incorrect answer, and 0 points for questions left blank<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participants may use any scientific or graphing calculator; examples: TI-82\/83\/84\/85\/86\/89 calculators are allowed;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Calculators not allowed include TI-92, TI Nspire, or TI Nspire CAS II, and calculators with a &#8220;QWERTY&#8221; keyboard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Snacks will be provided<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sample tests with keys are provided (see information below)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$3000 scholarship awarded to the national champion!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Questions? No sign up\/registration necessary, just show up.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>&nbsp;[2025-2026 Result]<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The first round of AMATYC&nbsp;SML&nbsp;competition in 2025-2026 academic year was held on November 5th.
