Our theme for this year is <em><strong>Returning to the Table: Legacy, Tradition, and Wellness for Our Future<\/strong><\/em>. The theme invokes the imagery of community and family coming together to share wisdom, reflect on traditions, and provide wellness. See the calendar of events below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[New date To Be Announced] <strong><s>Feb. 4th<\/s>&#8211;  \u201cRest Reset: Leveling Up Your Stress Game\u201d Mental Health Workshop<\/strong><br>Hosted by Umoja Scholars Program and Healthy Campus Project<br>In this workshop, attendees will learn how to make stress relief relatable, actionable, and fun; show students how to &#8220;hack&#8221; their breaks to recharge effectively; and help them feel empowered to prioritize rest without guilt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Time: 11am-12pm Location: B 215<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Feb. 7th- \u201cDaring to Dream\u201d Interview with Loria Yeadon, CEO YMCA of Greater Seattle<\/strong><br>Hosted by Black Student Union and Black Students Affinity Coordinator<br>Join us at the Social Justice Center (B207) for an interview with Loria Yeadon, focused on inspiring a new generation to dare to dream. Our theme for Black History Month will be empowerment.<br>Time: 12:30pm-2pm Location: B207<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Feb. 11th- Intergenerational Storytelling and Porch Talk with BEOBC and students<\/strong><br>Hosted by Umoja Scholars Program and BEOBC<br>Join in a guided Porch Talk discussing issues impacting self and communities today and share knowledge relevant for today and in the future.<br>Time: 1pm-3pm Location: B 215<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Feb. 13th- Pop Up Dance Class<\/strong><br>Hosted by Umoja Scholars Program and (VC) Bynum Arts &amp; Education<br>We are back hosting another pop up class bringing HipHop and Contemporary styles. Bringing dishes and recipes from the African American culture and the African diaspora that exists around the world, we pay homage to family, community, traditions, and ancestral knowledge. Register to attend: <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/r\/sR9BdidXQe\">https:\/\/forms.office.com\/r\/sR9BdidXQe<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Time: 12pm-2pm Location: C130 A\/B<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Feb. 20th- Lewis Rudd: Entrepreneur Talk with Ezells Founder<\/strong><br>Hosted by Business Leadership Community, Black Student Union, and Black Students Affinity Coordinator<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Time: 12:30pm-2:30pm Location: N201<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Feb. 21st- QTBIPOC Film Screening: \u201cKiki\u201d<\/strong><br>Hosted by Black Students Affinity Coordinator and LGBTQIA+ Students Affinity Coordinator<br>&#8220;25 years after Paris Is Burning introduced the art of voguing to the world, Kiki revisits New York City\u2019s thriving underground ballroom scene. It\u2019s a larger-than-life world in which LGBTQ youths of color are empowered by staging elaborate dance competitions that showcase their dynamic choreography, fabulous costumes, and fierce attitude. It\u2019s also a safe haven for struggling, at-risk teens who find acceptance, support, and friendship within the Kiki community. Granted intimate access to the scene, filmmaker Sara Jorden\u00f6 introduces viewers to some of Kiki culture\u2019s most prominent personalities, going beyond the glamour of the balls to highlight the serious challenges facing queer black and Latino young people.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Time: 1pm-3pm Location: B207<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Feb. 28th- &#8220;Fog Beyond the Mountains: A Pilgrimage-in-Place&#8221; with Sankofa Impact<\/strong><br>Hosted by Multicultural Services<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sankofa Impact brings people together for place-based learning that confronts our history of racism, uplifts stories of resistance, and celebrates culture. Their immersive, in-person &#8220;Pilgrimage-in-Place&#8221; workshops take participants to locations through dynamic, interactive slide decks, creating historical context, providing opportunities for participants to self-reflect and dialogue, and exploring ideas on how to take action and make meaningful contributions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fog Beyond the Mountains: The story of racial difference in the Northwest often overlooks communities and keeps history cloaked in fog.
