Bellevue College accepts resignation of Dr. David L. Rule

The Board of Trustees of Bellevue College accepted the resignation of Dr. David L. Rule on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at a special meeting.

Dr. Lisa Chin, chair of the Board of Trustees thanked Dr. Rule for making a difference at Bellevue since joining the College as president in January of 2013. “Dr. Rule made many valuable contributions to Bellevue College including governance restructuring, international student recruitment and expanding our social justice outreach,” Chin said.

“It has been an honor to serve our students, faculty and staff,” Rule said. “Our collaborative work transformed higher education in many key areas.”

On Wednesday, trustees also voted to appoint Dr. Gita Bangera, interim vice president of instruction and Aaron Hilliard, vice president of Human Resources as acting co-presidents and noted that a process will be developed for a presidential search.

Bellevue College’s commitment to providing exceptional opportunities for over 33,000 students annually continues to make a difference locally, regionally and nationally.   Bellevue College is developing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science to its 10 existing baccalaureate degrees as it seeks to expand pathways to high demand jobs for those who need more access to affordable valuable higher education.
