In recognition of their high academic achievements, two outstanding Bellevue College students, Kiseuk Ahn and Kailyn Hanson, were recently named to the 2020 All-Washington Academic Team.
Hanson, 22, lives in Issaquah and is a first-year general sonography student attending Bellevue College’s Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology Program. She is already beginning to work on advanced certifications, including Breast Ultrasound and hopes to one day get a bachelor’s degree. She has a 3.79 GPA. She is also a participating member of the BC DUTEC Club. As her first year is already halfway through, Kay looks forward to her year-long clinical practicum starting this fall.
Ahn, 25, has achieved a 3.8 GPA while studying for an Associate in Science-Engineering at Bellevue College. He is a recipient of the Hoffman Math Scholarship, the founder of the STEM Student Association, the Vice President of the Rocketry Club, a NASA Community College Aerospace Scholar, and an intern at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. A Bellevue resident, Ahn plans to obtain an advanced degree in aeronautics and astronautics in the future.
Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges, introduced the All-USA Academic Team to honor students for their scholastic achievement and community service efforts. The students who comprise the All-Washington Academic Team reflect the diversity of the state, maintain high standards of excellence and contribute positively to the community.
