Bellevue College Students Invited to Exploring Pathways Career Panels 

Held Jan. 30-Feb. 1, this event will include a career-focused series of speaker panels featuring working professionals, including Bellevue College alumni, in a variety of different careers. The event will kick off with a keynote address by a former college faculty member turned data scientist . Throughout the week, students will have the opportunity to learn more about what is involved in various career paths and how to better prepare themselves for entry into these careers.

Bellevue College and Complexe Scolaire Renew Partnership 

Presidents of Bellevue College and Complexe Scolaire Bellevue recently renewed their strategic partnership to expand opportunities for international students in Africa. Complexe Scolaire Bellevue is a primary and secondary school named after Bellevue College and is based in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo.

Bellevue Resident Donates $3 Million to Support Bellevue College Students 

The Bellevue College Foundation recently received its largest individual gift in the foundation’s history. The gift will spur the creation of an endowed scholarship, which will help thousands of Bellevue College students pay for college for years to come.

Bellevue College alum Michael Muir didn’t always know he wanted to help people through science. But now, the 2019 Molecular Biosciences program graduate uses worms, robots, and artificial intelligence on a regular basis to study and find new ways to offset the diseases of aging.

Bellevue College Trustee Appointed Chair-Elect of ACCT Board of Directors

Richard Fukutaki, chair of the Bellevue College Board of Trustees, was recently elected chair-elect of the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) Board of Directors. The ACCT is a national nonprofit organization for community, technical, and junior college trustees, which brings together college leaders to address real-world challenges and help students succeed through advocacy and education.

The Aspen Institute named Bellevue College as one of the 150 institutions eligible to compete for the $1 million Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, the nation's signature recognition of high achievement and performance among two-year colleges.

Bellevue College’s Dr. Sonya Remington Doucette Honored

Dr. Sonya Remington Doucette, BC professor of chemistry, earth, and space science, and Climate Justice Faculty Development Lead, has been recognized with the William E. Bennett Team Award. Presented by the National Center for Science and Civic Engagement (NCSCE), this accolade celebrates the outstanding contributions of individuals and teams to citizen science.
