Personal Statement<\/strong><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Applicants for the RN to BSN program must submit a Personal Statement through CommonApp as a part of their application materials. This statement must address the following questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Where did you receive your initial nursing education and why are you interested in the RN-BSN Program at Bellevue College?<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Describe how your personal and professional experiences have shaped you as a person.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Describe the strengths and challenges you bring to the RN-BSN Program as a student. How will you compensate for your challenges?<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Describe your volunteer work or community involvement.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Format & Structure<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Your personal statement should be organized around the above questions. It should contain a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. Your personal statement must be in the following format:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. In the upper right-hand corner of each page (the header), please type your full name so it appears on every page of your statement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Type your statement in 12-point Times New Roman<\/strong> style font<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Double-space your statement or it will not be read.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Page limit: 3 pages maximum.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Use 1-inch margins.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Recommendations<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

      RN-BSN admission recommendations are now electronic surveys sent directly from CommonApp to the individual you list in your application. We will only accept recommendations through this system, so please tell the individuals to look for the link in their email inboxes (be sure to also check the Junk\/Spam folders).\u00a0 Only one professional recommendation is now required<\/strong>. A professional recommendation may be from your nursing faculty, clinical supervisor, nursing manager or medical employer\/professional.\u00a0 If you have not yet worked in healthcare, you may obtain a recommendation from a nursing faculty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The recommendation consists primarily of a Likert rating scale from 1 \u2013 5 (5 is the highest\/best), so it shouldn\u2019t take very much time for your reference people to complete.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
