Student Stories: Mock Interviews

November 29 was a momentous day for 4th year students: they completed two mock interviews with professionals from various community businesses. Students prepared for the interviews throughout the fall quarter as part of the Workplace Readiness course curriculum. Preparation included in-class practice answering behavioral questions using STAR (Situation/Task/Action/Result) statements, updating their resumes, and polishing their “60 Second Sell.”

During the mock interviews students were interviewed for a position in their chosen career pathway. To make the interviews more realistic, the students were not aware of any questions they would be asked other than “Tell me about yourself,” which allowed students to practice giving their “60 Second Sell.”

Workplace Readiness is one of the many courses OLS Students take to obtain their associates degree from OLS. More information about our curriculum is available on our website. To learn more about our program register for an upcoming Information Session.
