Resource Scavenger Hunt

First year students got to know the Bellevue College Main Campus a little better while engaging in a fun scavenger hunt to explore the variety of resources available to them. Students collaborated with partners to find the information and took notes and pictures. After the hunt, students reported on their findings by putting together a resource guide.

While this activity required students to use their critical thinking skills to figure out their answers to their questions and social thinking skills as they engaged with the people they met on campus, students had a lot of fun exploring the campus, with some of them even staying after the activity to take advantage of the resources they found (some of which joined a group of students playing video games in the cafeteria). They also utilized self-determination to navigate unfamiliar environments. Actively gathering resources and learning how to use them is a skill they will use throughout their lives.

Learning Strategies is one of the many courses OLS Students take to obtain their associate degree from OLS. More information about our curriculum is available on our website. To learn more about our program register for an Information Session.
